Aptitude Testing

Before enlisting in any branch of the U.S. Military, you must take the Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), which covers four critical areas: arithmetic reasoning, word knowledge, paragraph comprehension and mathematics knowledge. This test measures your strengths, weaknesses and potential for future success.

The ASVAB serves two primary purposes for the Air Force. First, it determines whether you have the mental aptitude to be in the Air Force. Second, it helps determine the career(s) that are most appropriate for you.
