Battlefield Airmen

Provide worldwide forward presence, engagement, information operations, precision strike and rescue operations.

Battlefield Airmen are the special operations force of the Air Force. They include Combat Controllers (CCT), Pararescumen (PJ), Tactical Air Control Party members (TACP) and Special Operations Weather Technicians (SOWT). Though the careers are very different, they all begin with the Battlefield Airmen indoctrination course. Your physical and mental limits will be pushed and then pushed some more. From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep, you’ll run everywhere you go, you’ll spend hours doing laps in a pool and more calisthenics than ever before. The purpose is to show you you’re capable of more than you think, and that if you desire to succeed, you will. The training is demanding but necessary to ensure those that survive the first few weeks have a better shot of making it through to the end.
